I really enjoyed this teacher’s reflection as they are starting to set up their room for the school year. I wonder how many of us could do the same and show the many different ideas for how our classrooms will look.

This quick tutorial shows how to create your own Mileage Calculator using Google Sheets/Forms/Scripts. It will automatically calculate the mileage, remember every place you have traveled to or from, and it will put it into a format for reimbursement. Because this is formatted specifically for Denver Public Schools, you may need to modify it for your own purposes. Here is the link to get you started: http://bit.ly/dpsmileage
Purpose: This hangout is meant to help anyone with an interest in running a Google+ Hangout as a roundtable discussion to be able to do so easily. We will go through the process of creating the hangout, developing the audience for that hangout, and the facilitation of the hangout (both technical and pedagogical).

I’m pretty sure this would mean we could use hangouts with kids without having to turn on plus and hangouts with teachers without having them upgrade their domain accounts to plus. Hmm…

Hangouts now supports any Google Apps customer account
We’ve heard from educators that multi-way video calling would be a useful tool for learning. It would help students connect with experts and with each other, and would help educators teach remotely and collaborate with their peers. So starting today, Hangouts video meetings support any Google Apps customer account (http://goo.gl/L5xha4), including those without a Google+ profile. Google Apps customers can start or join a high-definition video meeting that connects 15 participants from their computer (and coming soon for mobile and tablet). Multi-way calling will also be available if you’re using Google Talk.
To help you get started, we’ve put together 10 ways to use multi-way video calling in class: http://goo.gl/93b1c4. We can’t wait to see how you’ll use this new feature.
We are heading into the final stretch of the proposal rating process, and thus far we have had over 375 ratings! We are down to the last few days, and only a few have not received the 3 ratings each that I would like to see. This doc is the list of folks who have not received enough ratings, and I wanted to ask this community to help pitch in and rate the last few so that everyone gets a fair shake at feedback. Go team!

Every once in a while, I have a need to analyze my own Google+ data or that of someone else. Luckily, these two tools do an amazing of helping me to understand the ins and outs of the data. Let me know if you find them useful.
The number of followers is a metric that measures a person’s influence on Google+. The higher the number, the higher the person’s influence since more followers are likely to view this person’s posts.
All my + Statistics. This script will read the public data available through the Google+ API or all your data downloaded via Google Takeout and present various statistics.
