How much should we “be the experts in the room” and how much should we leverage the “expertise in the room”?

  1. I think you check with the group. Does anyone else know the answer? Is this the sort of thing that they can figure out if asked good questions and given time? If the answer to either of these questions is “yes,” you probably should not step in. On the other hand, is the group asking for expertise to be shared in a certain area that you have and no one else in the room has? Is the group growing frustrated and not moving forward? If so, it probably makes sense to step in.
