Alright, I’m gonna share one of my own, although it has mostly to do with Sheri Edwards’ contributions to this group thus far. I love her approach and this is the best way that I could express it.

  1. I don’t know what to say. Thank you for raising the idea of learning into the wonder of poetry. What I love about these conversations is that they allow the ideas to build one upon the other — what each of us sees in anothers’ reflection is often more than the original author could see at the time; we move forward with a deeper meaning. You have made the spoken words sing: “Learning is poetry.” Learning is more than the measurable and just less than a miracle. It is change — moving concepts forward as we are “held within it” because “it matters and we want to be a part of it.” That’s what I feel in the classroom; that’s what I want my learners to feel. I, just an ordinary person/teacher, am honored by your interpretation. You have taken what I couldn’t quite see, and given us another metaphor: Learning is poetry.

And that’s why you share “Learning is change;” because you see it; you see through to the relevance of our words. Thank you.

  4. I think that my goal in life is to make connections between disperate things. That is the same type of process that happens in creating poetry for sure.

Just make sure you keep making things for me to connect together. While the story we are telling together is prose, my guess is that we will have quite the epic poem shortly.
