  1. A cautionary tale for anyone who builds their entire online life around Google. I’ve heard horror stories of people violating, or appearing to violate, the TOS of one of Google’s services and, without warning, permanently losing access to all of them, with no opportunity to back anything up.

  5. I couldn’t agree more. I am very happy with the choices I have made to trust my data to Google, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t perform backups on occasion. I do think that my own actions are to blame for me being locked out (second time in two weeks), but I don’t know which actions those are at the moment.
