What do you all think about the idea of an Khan Acadey iPad app?

The Khan Academy iPad app is coming along really well. We’re getting near to a 1.0 release. This initial release will have video navigation and viewing as well as an interactive transcripts and offline support. Exercises will be coming in the next release. I’ve tossed a couple (very alpha) screenshots here. Huge thanks to Adam Ernst and Jason Rosoff for making this happen.
Interesting. Thanks for streaming it. Did it cost you anything?
I don’t actually have it because it is in beta, but I would assume it would be free because of all of the funding they are getting.
that would make sense. Teaching Y7 Maths next year and would love to get into Khan academy stuff to see how they like it. Using MyMaths this year was a good experiment but had to learn how to use it before I could make it effective. Really worked well for a couple of the pupils in particular. Taking responsibility for their own learning etc.
MyMaths has some good content. Hit up http://www.mangahigh.com too – games based learning done really well. The content scales up and down brilliantly with the ability of the pupil using it.
Hadn’t looked at Khan Academy properly for a while. Last time I looked it was just a (good) collection of how to videos. Looks impressive now, will have to set up a teacher account and delve further. Particularly like the knowledge map http://www.khanacademy.org/exercisedashboard
Yeah. They’re making it much better hey? As a coach you can set stuff for your classes which is key.
Yup looks like it. That’s my lessons planned for tomorrow – time for an end of term trial 😉
Fantastic idea!
Looks great! Is there any tentative release date?
Not that I know of. I saw a couple of blog posts about it the other day, though.
