Learning is Change

What I'm Using: Projeqt (Real-time presentations using twitter and Google Docs)

This is really cool, and I can think of about 100 uses immediately, from running an improvised presentation to providing a way for the front-channel and backchannel to interact automatically.

projeqted – dynamic presentations for the classroom

Real-time presentations with dynamic slides. Create a presentation once, and it updates everywhere instantaneously. With Projeqt, students can access, share, create and review their work from anywhere, at anytime. Give comments and feedback and track student progress; your Projeqts live in real-time and can be shared for everyone to see. Break away from the exhausting effects of the one-dimensional PowerPoint presentation and create a social and interactive learning experience.

Thank you to everyone who attended the event.

Thank you to everyone who attended the event. It was wonderful to see such collaboration and to hear from so many voices (including students)!

You can follow up on this event in 3 ways:

1. Continue to collaborate in the planning Doc: http://bit.ly/shareroundtable

2. Apply for a badge with a reflection on this event: http://badges.p2pu.org/en/badge/view/461/

3. Create your own roundtable on your own topic of interest: http://bit.ly/createroundtable

Audience for Roundtable: This roundtable is for any teacher or leader who has ever wanted to share something publicly and stopped themselves from doing it. This roundtable is for any educator who has struggled with just what to share and how to connect their classroom or school to the wider world.

Roundtable Purpose: The purpose of this roundtable is to discuss all of the ways in which we should be sharing our work as educators. We will also be diving into what privacy concerns and concerns for “learning in private” we must consider as we move into a world of radical transparency for schools.

You should notice a shiny new link in each of your proposals this morning!

You should notice a shiny new link in each of your proposals this morning!

It says, “Rate My Proposal.”

Anyone who clicks it will be able to rate your proposal and provide constructive feedback to you on a form. This form will both insert the rating/feedback into your proposal (at the bottom) and aggregate all of the ratings (for all proposals) into a central spreadsheet.

While we will have a panel of DPS school and district leaders rate your proposals throughout the month, it is highly encouraged that you invite others to do the same. This includes other teachers in this community, colleagues at your school, teacher friends in other districts, and any other educator that have an interest in this project. You can invite as many people as you like to rate your proposal, and the more that you do, the better your chances will be to get all of your requested toolkit items.

So, go ahead and share your proposal link and tell folks to “Rate My Proposal!”

To everyone that has submitted their proposals by the deadline, thank you!

To everyone that has submitted their proposals by the deadline, thank you!

I have really enjoyed watching as this community starts to come together, and I can’t wait for the next few months to go by as we get a chance to comment and collaborate ahead of the Great Unboxing Event in Early September.

I will send out an email with all of the particulars, but the month of July is for you to start promoting your proposal and getting lots of feedback from other teachers, leaders, and other folks around the community. The goal of this is so that at the end of July, when we make our final decisions, your proposals have been voted on and supported by many different perspectives around the district and outside of it as well.

Please comment on this post if you have questions, or simply send me a reply to the email that is forthcoming. Talk to you all soon!
