Learning is Change

I think this one is pretty important, more for the video that I quote rather than my own context of it.

I think this one is pretty important, more for the video that I quote rather than my own context of it. I really want to find out who this teacher is. So far, I think that he is a Media Studies Teacher at Park Hall Academy in the UK with the first name of Luke. The webpage of the school, however, is a little rough so I can’t figure out much more. Anyway, watch the video and let me know what you think of his bit of it.

No Teacher Should Have To Learn Alone

I hope we create a community around everyone who feels alone in their teaching or learning.

We should surround their pain and support them as they heal.

We should do this because it is the thing that matters most when you are passionately trying to create.

This vlog is very personal in nature because of how vulnerable the original video I am responding to was.

Updating the Podcast

So, I realized as soon as I started this Reflective Practice Vlogging Project that I would at some point have to update my podcast feed. It has mostly laid dormant since 2009, but I still go back occasionally and listen to those ideas and gain new insight from the iTunes feed.

Clearly, a lot has happened since 2009, though. And, I wanted to do something that would bridge the gap. The easiest thing for me to do was to start ripping the videos down to MP3 files and then putting them up on the podcast channel for those of you who would rather consume them that way.

So, that is exactly what I’m going to do. The continuity from these short episodes will allow for any listener to hear the evolution of the conversation over the course of a few days.

Also, you can now subscribe in the sidebar. Enjoy.

Who Is Your Secondary Learning Audience?

As a response to both Tim Villegas and Kevin Honeycutt, this is where I think the conversation around managing our digital learning lives should go. I discuss why we should feel a sense of professional responsibility to curate our learning for others. We should always feel a responsibility to our primary learning audience, but it is the secondary audience that we should also consider.

I just found your youtube channel and subscribed to it, but I wanted to go one step further and invite you to this new community of EdTech folks that are looking to contribute and collaborate through video. Right now we are just reflecting on our daily learning, but I believe that the potential for long-term back and forth video in the educational technology world is huge. Let me know if you have any questions. Talk to you soon.
