What do we value in Professional Learning?

I’m struggling with figuring out what I believe we should pay people to do within professional learning. I wonder if you might be able to help.

What do you pay people for (or value in other ways) in your professional learning experiences? Are there certain types of learning experiences that are better than others because of the ways we value them? Should anyone be paid to personalize their own professional learning?
