He is married to his favorite person, and loves his three children quite a little bit (aged 10, 15 and 17). He is passionate about authentic learning, technology with purpose, and creating at least one new thing every day. In short, he teaches, and learns. A lot.
Thanks for sharing this Ben. I absolutely love BIE, and everyone needs to take a look at the great stuff they have done with PBL.
I don’t know why I am not seeing this on the FreeBIEs page, but I thought the tubric was a great little way to help craft driving questions. I did find this page by doing a google search, but I can’t find it anywhere using the links on the BIE site:

Picked up a new mantra from Marist prof Kevin Gaugler that jives well with PBL thinking: Get away from planning great lessons and spend time creating great assignments

Thanks for this link Ben. I’m working with several teachers who are playing with integrating more PBL in early childhood classrooms – it seems like an obvious fit, but I’ve also seen interpretations of PBL that are pretty adult-directed – these articles will help us clarify and learn more.

Oh, I would love to see those classrooms. I’m so glad that you are working with these schools. I’m intrigued by how Portfolios and PBL work together to “show” what students are learning.

I would also like to do a call-out to the online project planner that you see in the left navigation bar.
