Because of Phil Macoun’s video (below), I was finally able to get my head around what Darren Kuropatwa was already trying to tell me a week ago. Clearly, there has to be a balance between learner responsibility and teacher curation. My hope is that I have found that balance in this conversation.
He owns a typewriter and collects Laserdiscs. He loves his three children quite a bit (aged 11, 16 and 18). He is passionate about authentic learning, technology with purpose, and creating at least one new thing every day. In short, he teaches, and learns. A lot.

Those are some really good thoughts. Here are my favorite takeaways:
1. Structure the paths for those who need it.
2. Do something when you want to dig deeper, don’t just talk about it
3. Motivation must be created as a part of the environment
I want to think more about how to make each of those thing a reality. Thank you for pushing me further on this.
