Go for it! I sold all my CDs and went Spotify Premium in 2009. With that and SomaFM I haven’t looked back!

You don’t ‘own’ your own music anyway. When I thought about things in 2009 I considered the following:
1. The falling price of music via physical media
2. The amount of time it would take me to rip each CD to MP3 if I deleted my collection (I don’t own an audio CD player any more)
Based on that, I decided to go with a cloud-based service. 🙂

Thanks Ben!

Benjamin Wilkoff I suppose so, but ‘owning rights’ and ‘owning’ != same thing. You have to factor in the overheads of backing up, cost of media and purchasing the music. Oh, and it means I can buy the cheaper versions of iPhones, iPads, etc. as I don’t need the storage space. 😉

Ah well, each to their own. Selling my CD collection in 2009 has paid for a few years of Spotify. Don’t think I’d get as much now! 😉
