He is married to his favorite person, and loves his three children quite a little bit (aged 10, 15 and 17). He is passionate about authentic learning, technology with purpose, and creating at least one new thing every day. In short, he teaches, and learns. A lot.
Fantastic video! He brought up such insightful research. I have a few rules of thumb when it comes to feedback. I need to cater the feedback to the person receiving it. For example, I always think about culture, personality, and past experiences that have or haven’t worked. However, there is always that chance that whatever has happened in the last day to that person may throw everything off that was once reliable. When it is critical feedback, I try to ground the work in data and make a direct connection to the students it will most impact. Is honest feedback negative feedback? It’s all in the delivery, right?
