Are We Done #CoLearning Yet?

Our communities exist and grow based upon their use, but we should join and leave those communities at will. We should be a part of them rather than own them. We should allow things to go fallow and then pick them up again and get excited. Communities do not die so long as one person takes it upon themselves to carry the banner and continue on.

Who is in your Fellowship?

I came across the singe most amazing student collaboration I have ever seen. While that may sound like hyperbole, it isn’t. I love the fact that 7 "strangers" from around the world came together and for two years produced video blogs for one another about topics they loved. While they are stopping their collaboration at the end of February, I encourage you to check it out because there are hundreds of videos to explore.

Also, I am looking to start a fellowship of my own… so, let me know if you want in.

Who Are Your Learning Heroes?

I realized that I have lots of Teaching mentors, but not enough Learning Mentors. Who do you look up to as a learner?

Sometimes I Forget: Or, The Things I Forgot and Remembered at #ipdx13

I haven’t been to a conference for a while as a participant, and today I tried to do just that. But, I realized just how many things I had forgotten in having these kinds of conversations. These are the things I forgot, some of which are good and some of which are decidedly not.

Please respond with what you have forgotten and remembered about Teaching and Learning.

Let's Uncover Learning Together

What if we mapped out our learning and uncovered portions of the map as we learn?

This idea comes from two places:

What is Your Back of The Napkin Learning

On the way to iPDx, I was struck by the fact that the back of a paper napkin was a better place to brainstorm than on my iPad, iPhone or Laptop. I wanted to figure out why that was. Here is my answer:

We know what else we can do with those devices. They are multi-taskers. What we need some times is a single-task device for a single task problem. Paper Napkin Ideas.
