Terrific reflection, Ben Wilkoff. You’re definitely right about a large conference being overwhelming. I always schedule a few breaks for myself so that I have time to reflect, organize my thoughts in a blog post, or just breathe. That being said, you are absolutely right about being able to learn a great deal by following people’s tweets and blog posts. I like the term “conference sponge.” You can just sit wherever you are and absorb the bits of learning that flow by in the stream of Twitter and blog posts that surrounds you.
