## Transcript

I thought that I oniy had a few hundred miles until I had. to find a new car or buy mine outrighh. I had signed a contract that only gave me 30,000 miles for three years. It ##### has only been a Бо і ав на отро в bн росту ода абу пом, но во year and a half and I have already driven 20500 miles. But###

enough for me. Not enough for my kids. Not ebough for their care, * had always envisioned saving money for their colleges. I had for their college, for their activities.

always imagined that it would be a similar process to the one that my father and I engaged in. Where money didn't matter and I could choose

yont. You will never have anything left if you haven't made decisions until the end of the month to see if wa have anything leit. Because you have anything made decisions

throughout your life to say no. And saying no was never something I could do. It was never something I enjoyed. But there is great joy building toward something. That you don't actually need more. in saying no. There 1s great joy in the knowledge that you are

That you will be just as happy in staying home. In microwaving a meal. In trying the free options. In not upgrading. But, the planning for it andthe lac. of understanding forh ow happy saying no could make me wasn't available while I was under that roof.

Not that I couldn't have done it, but that I couldn't have done it on my own. And now that I am on my own, I find that I can do it. That the joy for No 1s great and that plannigg seems mostly to just be about setting intention and following through.

There are befors and afters. There are dividing lines that se rate time into their discrete eras, moments that hold together because of the magnetic weight of who you were up until that* point. There were

all of the moments before I wanted to plan for saving and strategizing for what comes next. And there were themoments ever since. There wern the moments before my mind recognized 20500 for what it was, and there

were all of the moments when I saw 29500%. // No amount of truth could puncture my brain and make me see the real number. I had to see it for myself and know it to be true. I had to embrace the meaning before I could see the number..
