  1. Hi Benjamin … As a #DS106 active learner, I think that this MOOC engages participants through its “Daily Create” and the flexibility to allow participants to choose activity/assignments that resonate with them.

I would suggest that a reasonable “Daily Create” activity for teachers is to “learn one new thing each day.”

Your bicycle spoke metaphor really connected with me as a representation of the interconnections and forces that result in this MOOC environment.

Take care & keep smiling 🙂 Brian

  4. Thanks so much for your comment. I have used the personal mantra of “create one new thing every day” for a while, and I think that requires learning for sure. I look forward to following what is going on in #ds106 for as long as people still make great things inspired by it.

  7. Benjamin, I love this piece. I consider this integral to living and growing.  Grow (create) or die.  Making this an expectation must not become a burden but should energize.  If this is a legalism then it will produce depression, but as an expectation with hope it should produce energy and excitement.  You can and more often than not will create every day if you make this your goal.  Once you start it becomes proof that it can be done.

  10. Thanks so much, Dad. I couldn’t agree more.

This daily vlogging project has really put a lot of inspiration back into my day and I am so excited to see where it goes. I love that you are creating daily as well, and it shows.

It is the practice that makes it possible, but I find that only by reflecting on that practice can I make it worthwhile. That is where my energy comes from for sure.
